Welcome to the Training page for Monroe County ARES!

We hope to provide you with the tools necessary to participate in MCARES as well as interact with other agencies during an emergency.


Registering for a FEMA Student Identification System (SID) number is the first item you will need to do before participating in any of the FEMA certifications. You can do this here, at the FEMA SID website.

The process for getting registered and taking the online courses can be daunting. Please feel free to reach out to the Emergency Coordinator or the Assistant Emergency Coordinators for assistance!

There are many courses offered on both the FEMA and ARRL websites. You are not required to take every FEMA or ARRL course offered, however, you may find many of them beneficial.

There are currently no scheduled Skywarn classes in Monroe County. However, please check the NWS Morristown office schedule website for nearby in person classes here, or for Virtual online classes here.
