December 2nd is Skywarn Recognition Day 2023. The first Saturday of every December is Skywarn Recognition Day. Created by the National Weather Service in 1999, in conjunction with the American Radio Relay League, it celebrates the contributions of Skywarn volunteers have made to the NWS and their mission to protect life and property.

Typically, there is a ‘check-in’ of spotters from across the nation. More information will be forthcoming about this event as it nears.
